Adjusting

Benson is almost 5 weeks old and as adorable as ever. He has had a very hard time adjusting to the move but I THINK that he is getting a little more settled. He is very happy in the morning and I wish the morning would last all day long. He is just growing like crazy and most of the clothes he wears are 3 monthers. He loves to take walks but I don't last too long because I keep forgetting to have Bryce buy some bug spray on his way home from work and the mosquitoes are terrible. Oh, and deer flies! I forgot about deer flies in this country. Growing up in Wyoming there were always deer flies, but I forgot how those buggers bite!

We got here on Sunday and there is SO much to do. The house has been vacant for 2 years and other than the construction workers coming in to fix the place up, and an occasional break in from delinquent teenagers, the house has seen no life. There is dust, a lot of dust, on everything and the carpets are in need of a good shampoo. It seems like the bathroom and kitchen have never been cleaned. Ever. And the doors and light switches are filthy. So, needless to say, we have spent the last week doing just as much cleaning as unpacking. We purchased all new appliances and they are showing up one by one. Until they all arrive, I have been storing a few food items in a cooler and drinking kind of cold tap water. Today we got our fridge and now we have everything but a dishwasher.

POSITIVE NOTES: The house still is very lovely and I am in awe that it belongs to us. (Well, really to the bank) I took a bath in my great big tub last night and reveled the experience. Our neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. Bryce has been able to be home a few days this week and it has made the transition a little easier for me. I have a wonderful husband, baby, and home. I need to remember to count my blessings when I feel overwhelmed because they are plentiful.

Here is a video of Benson for the enjoyment of family and friends. I am sorry I talked so much. I should have just stayed quiet and let you hear more of the baby. At the end I say Hi to a few people. I forgot many of you, but I do think of you all often. Hello to Grandpa Hamblin and Bryan and Ben families. Hi to Bubber. Hi to Grandma and Grandpa Jolley. Hi to the Jolley siblings and to all of my lovely nieces and nephews. AND, Hi to everyone else.

Oh he is just as cute as can be! As things come together post pictures of the house. This transition has been hard on me and I don't even have a new baby! Have I mentioned how much I don't like change. But like you said there are too many blessings, and that helps. He is just a doll Natali! Can't wait to see more pictures.

Hi, my little Benson. Just 5 weeks old and talking already! How sweet, oh here come my tears. I love you all so much.

Thank you for the post and video. I am very grateful.

I can see some Hamblin in him for he reminds me alittle of Tristan.

Oh, he's such a cute cute little baby! I just love him. Thanks for the great video. I'm glad that he is adjusting a little better. Babies love routines, and consistency. He was just a little confused, that's all! You are such a great mom. Good luck with getting all the stuff done in the house. It will all come together sooner than you think.

OH Natali - you have such a good sounding voice! Seriously. And Benson is darling, absolutley darling. We loved that name when we were deciding what to name Gavin, but it fits Benson much better ;).

Good luck moving/cleaning/unpacking. Ugh, I hate hate hate change and it takes awhile for me to feel that in home feeling with a new place. We just stopped by our rental home today as the painters were inside and I just felt overwhelmed at the cleaning we'll have to do. And I don't even have a new baby!! You're my hero ;). Way to hang in there and keep going.

P.S. Both annoucements are SO cute - but the 2nd one is my favorite - the black and white one.
